The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced recalls of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed.
Product: Children's boots
Units: 6,500
Manufacturer: See Kai Run, of Woodinville, Wash.
Hazard: Metal snaps on the side closure of the boot can detach,posing a choking hazard to young children.
Incidents/injuries: See Kai Run has received one report of a child starting to choke on a detached snap from the boot.
Description: This recall involves the “Ellis” children's boot sold in pre-walk and toddler sizes 3 through 9. The boots are black with white stitching and were sold with either leather or faux fur lining.“See Kai Run” is written on the sole and insole of the boots.
Sold at: Children's shoe stores, department stores, boutiques and Web retailers nationwide from November 2004 through November 2006 for about$40.
Remedy: Take the recalled shoes away from young children and return them to the store where purchased for a refund or replacement pair of shoes.
