The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced recalls of the following product. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed.

Three companies are recalling children's toy jewelry because they contain high levels of lead, which can be toxic if ingested by young children.

Product: Charm bracelets and “sportswear” necklaces

Units: About 900,000

Importer: Cardinal Distributing Co., of Baltimore.

Description: The recalled necklaces have sports-themed pendants,including blue or green basketballs, yellow stars, “01” and“Perfect 10.” Pendants hang from a black cord. Bracelets include green or pink painted heart-shaped charms and silver-colored charms shaped as suns, moons, stars, padlocks, keys, rattles and fish bones.

Sold in: Vending machines in malls, discount, department and grocery stores nationwide from January 2006 through April 2007 for 25 cents.

Remedy: Discard the jewelry.

Product: Children's religious fish necklaces

Units: About 132,000

Importer: Oriental Trading Company Inc., of Omaha, Neb.

Description: The recalled necklaces have a silver fish pendant that hangs from a black cord.

Sold at: Oriental Trading Company Inc. Web site and catalog from January 2005 through January 2007 for about 70 cents.

Remedy: Discard the recalled necklaces and contact Oriental Trading Company Inc. for information on how to receive a refund or credit.

Product: Children's rings with dice or horseshoes

Units: About 200

Importer: Cardinal Distributing Co. Inc., of Baltimore.

Description: The recalled rings are silver with either dice or horseshoes on top. The numbers on some of the dice are painted in various colors. The horseshoes have either pink and green or purple and yellow painted polka dots.

Sold in: Vending machines in malls, discount, department and grocery stores in the Baltimore area from August 2004 through March 2007 for about 25 cents.

Remedy: Discard the recalled rings.
