Treating fetuses with AZT
Boston researchers are testing the effects of AZT on unborn mice, which might bring about treatment for the human fetuses of women infected with the AIDS virus.
Arlene Sharpe, M.D., and Rudolph Jaenisch, M.D., of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research in Cambridge, Mass., and Ruth Ruprecht, M.D., of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, are involved in the study.
