The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced recalls of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. For a complete list of recalled products, visit www.cpsc.gov.

Units: More than 2.1 million cribs in the United States and Canada

Manufacturer: Stork Craft Manufacturing, of British Columbia, Canada

Description: The Stork Craft drop-side cribs with manufacturing and distribution dates between January 1993 and October 2009 and with the Fisher-Price logo that have manufacturing dates between October 1997 and December 2004 are recalled.

Hazard: The cribs’ drop-side plastic hardware can break or be installed upside-down, resulting in the drop-side detaching. The space between the broken drop-side and the crib mattress can trap and suffocate infants and toddlers or cause them to fall.

Incidents/injuries: Four children have suffocated. In addition, 110 other incidents have been reported, including 15 entrapments and 20 falls.

Sold at: Major U.S. and Canadian retailers, including BJ’s Wholesale Club, J.C. Penney, Kmart, Meijer, Sears, USA Baby and Wal-Mart stores, and online at Amazon.com, Babiesrus.com, Costco.com, Target.com and Walmart.com from January 1993 through October 2009 for $100 to $400.

Remedy: Stop using the crib and request a free repair kit. Find an alternative, safe sleeping environment until the kit is received and repair is made.
