Product: Woven storage trunks

Importer: Target Corp., of Minneapolis
Hazard: The trunk lid can drop suddenly, posing a strangulation hazard to small children.
Injuries: An 18-month-old girl suffered brain damage when the trunk’s lid came down on the back of her neck and pinned her throat against the rim of the trunk.
Description: Trunks are brown or natural color and come in 14 styles. They are made of woven rattan, abaca or banana leaf with standard hinges.
Sold exclusively at: Target stores nationwide and on www.target.com from February 2009 through April 2010 for $50 to $130.
Remedy: Return trunks to Target for a refund or replacement product.
