Manufacturer: Procter & Gamble Co., of Cincinnati

Hazard: Some bottles of mouthwash have malfunctioning child-resistant caps and contain ethyl alcohol, which can cause serious injury or death if ingested by children.

Description: Scope Original Mint Mouthwash in 1 liter bottles that have the number “4” on the bottom are recalled. If the cap can be twisted off without squeezing the tabs, the package is not child-resistant.

Sold at: Drugstores, grocery stores and other retailers between January and June 2010 for about $4.

Remedy: Keep mouthwash out of reach of children and contact Procter & Gamble for a refund or a replacement coupon.
