Manufacturer: Bassett Furniture Industries Inc., of Bassett, Va.
Hazard: The cribs’ drop-side rail can detach from the crib and entrap children.
Description: Bassettbaby drop-side cribs are wood with a metal mattress support. They were sold in a variety of finishes and have external plastic hardware. A label on the footboard or headboard has the model number, production date and other information.
Sold at: Children’s product stores and other retailers nationwide and online from January 2000 through August 2010 for $200 to $500.
Remedy: Stop using drop-side cribs, find an alternate, safe sleeping environment for the child and contact Bassettbaby for a free repair kit.
