The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s new searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. Manufacturer: Landscape Structures Inc., of Delano, Minn.
Hazard: Children can fall when moving from the ladder to the slide and when descending the chute.
Description: These 6-foot high, plastic playgrounds slides are curved and include arched, tubular steel access ladders. Recalled are models 156456 and 172627 sold in red, blue, tan, green, granite and white.
Sold: To schools and other facilities with playground equipment between January 2006 and December 2011 for about $2,300.
Remedy: Landscape Structures will contact owners with removal instructions and the option of replacing the slide with another piece of equipment or receiving credit toward a future purchase or a refund.
