The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s new searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. Hazard: Children can place their fingers in the opening at the grab bar’s hinge mechanism. When consumers lift the grab bar to remove a child from the seat, the child’s fingertips can be caught in the hinge mechanism and be crushed or amputated.

Description: Bicycle carrier seats have model numbers TCS2100, TCS2101 and TCS2102. The gray plastic seats were sold in three styles: Babyseat, Babyseat with disc brake compatible rack and Babyseat with non-disc brake compatible rack.

Sold at: J&B Imports, REI, Action and Hawley, independent bicycle dealers, distributors and other retailers nationwide and at REI.com from January 2009 through April 2012 for $140 to $180.

Remedy: Stop using the seats and contact Todson Inc. for a free hinge cover retrofit kit.
