The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s new searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. A searchable food and medical product recall database is available at http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/default.htm.
Units: About 50,000 in the United States and 2,500 in Canada
Manufacturer: Green Toys Inc., of Mill Valley, Calif.
Hazard: The wheels and hubcaps on the toy cars can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
Description: Green Toys Mini Vehicles are made of plastic and came in yellow, green, red, white and blue. Recalled are Mini Vehicle Set (MVHA-1014), Mini Ambulance(MAMW-1015), Mini Vehicle Assortment (MVSA-1016), Mini Red Fastback (MFBR-1018), Mini Police Car (MPCB-1020), Mini Taxi (MTXY-1021) and Mini Fastback Set (MVFA-1022). Vehicles were manufactured from March through June 2012. The date is represented by a circle with an arrow in the middle on the underside of the car. To the left and right of the arrow are numbers that represent the year and the arrow points to the number that represents the month. Cars with an “I” etched next to the date stamp are not part of the recall.
Sold by: Mass merchandisers, grocery stores and independent toy and specialty stores nationwide and by online retailers from April to June 2012 for $5 each or $18 for a set.
