The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. Hazard: If a child swallows the soft, marble-sized ball, it can expand inside the child’s body and cause intestinal obstructions, resulting in severe pain, vomiting, dehydration or death. The toys do not show up on an X-ray, and surgery must be used to remove them.
Description: The Monster Science Growing Spider toy sets, model 7280, contain one polymer spider and three “spider eggs” that can absorb up to 800 times their weight in water and grow up to eight times their original size.
