Hazard: The mattresses are a fire hazard.

Description: American Mattress Manufacturing’s rebuilt twin, full, queen and king-size mattresses, and mattresses with built-in “bunkie” boards are used mattresses that were stripped to the springs and rebuilt by American Mattress Manufacturing in a variety of fabrics and colors. They have a yellow tag with “American Mattress Mfg. Co., 1899 Metropolitan Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30315.” Rebuilt mattresses with a federal tag indicating that they meet the federal mattress flammability standard are not recalled.

Sold at: Mattress stores in Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi from December 2010 through September 2011 for $30 to $200.

Remedy: Contact American Mattress Manufacturing to have the mattress sets picked up, rebuilt to be compliant with the federal flammability standards and returned.
