Hazard: If two or more magnets are swallowed, they can link together inside a child’s intestines, leading to serious infection or death.
Description: The Nanospheres were sold as an adult novelty item or desk toy. A warning states that the toys should be used only by those ages 14 years and older. Products are a mass of 231 small powerful magnets that are silver, gold or black. Each magnet is about 5 millimeters in diameter. The magnets come in a circular metal canister labeled “Nanospheres.”
Sold at: Amazon.com from November 2010 through December 2011 for $25 to $30.
