The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. Units: About 18,000

Hazard: If a child climbs up open dresser drawers, the dresser can tip over and trap the child underneath.

Incidents: An 11-month-old boy and a 20-month-old girl suffocated after their dressers fell on them.

Description: Million Dollar Baby dressers come in “Emily” style four-drawer dressers (models M4712, M4722, M4732 and M4742) and “Ryan” dressers (model M4733). Dressers were made from pine and wood composite in cherry, ebony, espresso, honey oak and white finishes. They are part of the DaVinci children’s bedroom furniture collection.

Sold at: JCPenney and juvenile specialty stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, BabiesRUs.com, BabyUniverse.com and other online retailers from January 2006 through June 2010 for $230 to $300.

Remedy: Keep the dresser out of a child’s reach, and contact company for a retrofit kit that contains a wall anchor strap to attach to the dresser and wall to help prevent the dresser from tipping.
