The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. A searchable food and medical product recall database is available at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/default.htm.
Units: About 2,000 in the United States and 200 in Canada
Hazard: The chinstrap buckle can fail, posing a head injury hazard to users.
Description: WRSI Moment and Trident models whitewater kayaking and rafting helmets have a black chinstrap with a black plastic buckle, and were sold in sizes S/M and M/L. “WRSI” is printed under or on top of the helmet’s visor.
Sold at: Northwest River Supplies and sporting goods stores nationwide and at www.whitewaterhelmet.com from March to November 2012 for $140 to $170.
