The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. A searchable food and medical product recall database is available at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/default.htm.

Hazard: An exposed staple in the sole of the boot can cause cuts.
Description: This recall involves Autumn Run brand girls’ Gemma II style boots with SKU 0529-02613-1050. The SKU can be found on a tag inside the shoe. The brown roper style boots were sold in girls’ sizes 5 to 11. A paisley-print fabric sash and a leather beaded strap are tied around the boot.
Sold exclusively at: Academy Sports + Outdoors stores and at Academy.com between July and October 2012 for about $23.
Remedy: Instructions for inspecting the boots for an exposed staple are at www.renimp.com. Boots that are stamped “Inspected” on the inside label are not recalled. Return recalled boots to any Academy Sports + Outdoors store for a refund.
