The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. Hazard: The paint on the pink-colored youth beds contains lead, which is harmful to children if swallowed.
Description: Recalled are twin-size metal beds with three pink heart-shaped designs on both the footboard and headboard. The beds come with stickers that can be applied to the heart shape design. Model number #MB-YPT-R1 is on the box and instruction sheet. Recalled beds were manufactured between December 2011 and May 2013. The date code is on a yellow label on the inside of the metal side rail (year listed first). Black and white models and mattresses are not recalled.
Sold at: Furniture and other retail stores nationwide from February 2012 to June 2013 for $120 to $170.
Remedy: Contact Glideaway Bed Carriage Manufacturing Co. for instructions on exchanging the bed for a replacement or refund.
