The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. A searchable food and medical product recall database is available at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/default.htm.

Hazard: The top portion of the tailwind rack that connects trailer cycles to a towing bicycle can break, and the trailer cycle can disconnect.
Description: The Tailwind Racks are used for hitching children’s trailer cycles to adult size bicycles. The aluminum racks were sold in black or silver or with Kazoo or Piccolo brand trailer cycles in black only. The racks have double side rails. Burley is printed on the curved back plate of the rack.
Sold at: Independent bicycle retailers and specialty outdoor retailers nationwide and at Amazon.com, Biketrailershop.com and other websites from November 2011 through September 2013. Individual racks sold for $65. Kazoo and Piccolo trailer cycles with Tailwind Racks sold for $300 and $350, respectively.
Remedy: Stop using the racks and contact Burley for a steel replacement rack.
