The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. Hazard: The lid can break into pieces, and sharp points can cut children.

Description: The recalled plastic water bottles have a Brita logo and cartoon characters, including Dora the Explorer (violet; UPC code: 60258-35883); Hello Kitty (pink; UPC code: 60258-35914); SpongeBob Square Pants (blue; UPC code: 60258-35880); and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (green; UPC code: 60258-35882). The bottles hold 15 ounces of liquid, have white lids, fold-up straws and filters.

Remedy: Contact Brita for a postage-paid shipping package to return bottles for a refund.

Sold at: Alaska Housewares, Associated Food Stores, Bartell Drug, C&S Wholesale Grocers, Quidsi, Royal Ahold, Shopko, Target, US Navy Exchange, Walmart Stores and online at Amazon.com, Drugstore.com and Target.com. The bottles were sold from June 2013 through July 2014 for $13 to $19.
