The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. A searchable food and medical product recall database is available at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/default.htm.
Hazard: A metal thread inside the shoe liner can poke through and cut the wearer.
Description: The “Carta” and “Cotton” styles of Livie & Luca shoes have been recalled. Both are canvas with rubber soles and fabric straps. Carta style shoes are blue, gray or fuchsia; Cotton style are yellow, green or red with an embroidered rabbit.
Sold at: Children’s boutiques nationwide and at www.livieandluca.com, www.zappos.com, www.addyscloset.com and www.mylittlejules.com from January through March 2014 for about $54.
Remedy: Throw away shoes and contact retailer for store credit or replacement instructions. If purchased online, contact Livie and Luca.
