The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. A searchable food and medical product recall database is available at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/default.htm.
Hazard: The television can come off the mount assembly and fall on people.
Description: Sanus Simplicity model SLF5 is black metal and meant to hold a flat-screen TV. Model numbers for SLF5 can be found on the product label sticker located on the metal wall plate, under the plastic cover that covers the top horizontal bar.
Sold at: Costco from July 2013 to September 2014 for about $125.
Remedy: The importer, Milestone AV Technologies LLC, is contacting consumers and providing a free repair kit. Follow the instructions for the repair provided in the letter, and contact Milestone with questions.
