The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. Hazard: The buckles on the waist and shoulder straps can crack or break, and children can fall out.

Description: The Playtex Hip Hammock is an infant carrier designed to strap babies who weigh 15 to 35 pounds against the caregiver’s body at the hip. It is made of a soft, quilted fabric that is black or navy. The child seat is attached with straps that wrap around the carrier’s hips and shoulder. All models are being recalled: 05300, 05301, 05302, 05306, 05307 and 05308.

Sold at: Burlington Coat Factory, Target, Walmart, juvenile product, baby and discount stores nationwide and at Amazon.com from June 2004 through December 2008 for $40 to $60.

Remedy: Contact Playtex to return the product for a refund.
