The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. A searchable food and medical product recall database is available at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/default.htm.

Hazard: The metal rivets surrounding the holes where the shoestring is secured can have sharp edges, which can cut children.
Description: The Runestone children’s shoes are black with gray mesh fabric panels on the side. A green “Coleman” logo name and lantern graphic is on the tongue. The black shoestrings are threaded through green fabric tabs on the top of the shoe. A label on the inside of tongue identifies the style as Runestone.
Sold at: Big 5 Sporting Goods retail stores nationwide from January through December 2013 for about $39.
Remedy: Return shoes to a Big 5 Sporting Goods store for a refund, or contact Eastman Footwear for instructions on returning the shoes for a refund.
