The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. Hazard: When assembled incorrectly, the bunk bed can create a space, and young children can become stuck in the space and injured.
Description: Lea Covington and Hannah Collections bunk beds with bookcases were sold in twin over twin and full over full sizes with accessories such as a bookcase. The Covington Collection has a cherry finish, and the Lea Collection has a white finish.
Sold at: Furnitureland South, other furniture stores nationwide and at Hayneedle.com from September 2011 to March 2014 for about $1,700.
Remedy: Contact the company to find out if the bed is misassembled. A professional installer can be dispatched to raise the position of the bottom bunk bed and install new brackets on the bookcase.
