The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. A searchable food and medical product recall database is available at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/default.htm.
Hazard: The two magnets holding the pencil case lid closed can come off. If the magnets are swallowed, they can link together inside a child’s intestines and cause serious injuries.
Description: The Gadget Pencil Cases are plastic boxes with spring-loaded compartments for a pencil sharpener, scissors, ruler, eraser, tape and five pencils. The lid contains two magnets. Case covers are available in four designs: Avengers, Cars, Miles from Tomorrowland and Multi-Princess.
Sold at: Disney Stores nationwide in June for about $15.
Remedy: Contact Disney Stores to receive a refund.
