The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. A searchable food and medical product recall database is available at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/default.htm.
Hazard: The tea cups are mislabeled as microwave safe. If microwaved, the gold paint accents on the cups can spark and catch fire.
Description: This recall involves four styles of “Cheeky” 6-ounce ceramic teacups. The cups have floral motifs with gold painted accents and have four “cheeky” phrases, such as “booze” and “more whiskey please,” painted on the inside or outside rim of the cup. “Dishwasher Safe,” “Microwave Safe” and “Made in China” are printed on the bottom of the cup.
