The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. A searchable food and medical product recall database is available at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/default.htm.
Hazard: The chairs can tip over when they face sideways and swing beyond the base, posing a fall hazard.
Description: The egg-shaped hanging chairs are made of brown plastic wicker mesh and have red seat cushions. They hang from a chain connected to a black metal pole and U-shaped base.
Sold exclusively at: Big Lots stores from December 2014 through January 2015 for about $300 including the base.
Remedy: Return chairs to Big Lots for a refund. Discard the base.
