NACHRI calls for Medicaid reforms
A complex and under-funded Medicaid program poses insurmountable barriers to pregnant women and children, states a report by the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI).
The report, "Assuring Children's Access to Health Care: Fixing the Medicaid Safety Net," cites gaps in Medicaid eligibility and a bureaucratic application and claims process as the main reasons why poor families do not receive adequate health care.
