All children should grow up in a safe environment.
Anticipatory guidance for injury prevention should be an integral part of the medical care provided for all infants and children.
Physicians caring for infants and pre-school children should advise parents to acquire for their children's safety:
1. Currently approved child car restraints.
2. Smoke detectors in the home that would protect the child's sleeping area.
