Adult beds pose danger to infants
More than 200 infants, as old as 12 months, died from entrapment or suffocation in adult beds from 1985 to 1989, officials at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) report.
Most deaths occurred when infants rolled to the edge of the bed and became entrapped, CPSC officials report. In mattress type beds, infants were trapped and suffocated between the mattresses and the walls, bed frames, footboards, or headboards.
