NHTSA issues car seat warnings
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a final rule requiring car seat belts be capable of tightly securing child safety seats without needing additional equipment or locks. The new rule applies to manual safety belts in all passenger seats of vehicles weighing 10,000 pounds or less and goes into effect on Sept. 1, 1995.
