Call for nominations

The AAP Council on Communications and Media is calling for nominations for the 2016 Holroyd-Sherry Award. The deadline for submissions is March 18.

The Academy will recognize one Fellow whose outstanding contributions demonstrated media’s influence on child and adolescent health as an important public health issue, and/or whose work in the areas of advocacy, legislation, research, and professional or public education addresses health implications raised by child and adolescent use of media.

This annual award, initiated in 2000, is named for H. James Holroyd, M.D., FAAP, and S. Norman Sherry, M.D., FAAP. Their leadership in the medical profession, which began in 1983 with their service as founding members of the Task Force on Children and Television, helped establish within the Academy and the medical community the powerful influence media messages have on the health and well-being of children and adolescents.
