Health Alerts: Electric skateboards, baby mobiles, night lights, and more recalled :

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. A searchable food and medical product recall database is available at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/default.htm.

Sweatshirts

Units: About 15,000

Hazard: The snaps on the hoodies can detach, and young children can choke on them.

Description: Minnie and Mickey Mouse infant hoodie sweatshirts have a three snap closure. The garments are cotton and polyester blend and were sold in sizes 6M, 12M, 18M and 24M. Ears and a red bow with white polka dots are attached to the hood. Date code FAC-010635-16194 or FAC-010635-16015 is printed on a label sewn into the side seam. UPC codes include (6M) 400000175669, (12M) 400000175676, (18M) 400000175683 and (24M) 400000175690.

Sold exclusively at: Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif., and on the Shop Disney Parks mobile app from April through October 2016 for about $30.

Remedy: Contact Walt Disney Parks and Resorts US, Inc. for instructions on returning sweatshirts for a refund.

Electric skateboards

Units: About 3,200

Hazard: The lithium ion battery pack can overheat and smoke, posing a fire hazard.

Description: This recall involves 2nd Generation Boosted Dual+ electric skateboards with lithium ion battery packs. “Boosted” is printed on the wooden skateboards. Serial numbers that start with S2634 through S2644 are on a white sticker on the bottom of the boards. The battery packs are attached to the bottom of the board in a black thermoplastic enclosure. Battery packs have an orange power button, and model number B2SR and “Boosted Lithium” are printed on the packs.   

Sold at: Online at boostedboards.com from September through November 2016 for about $1,500.

Remedy: Contact the company for a replacement battery pack.

Night lights

Units: About 3,000

Hazard: Liquid from the nightlight can leak onto the electrical outlet, posing a fire hazard.

Description: The Happy Holidays! Mickey Mouse nightlight with a Mickey Mouse face and red and white Santa hat filled with liquid and glitter has FAC # 019808-16150 printed on it.   

Sold exclusively at: Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif., Shop Disney Parks mobile app and online at DisneyStore.com from July through November 2016 for about $15.

Baby mobiles

Units: About 1,000

Hazard: The wheels on the mobile’s hanging cars can detach, and young children can choke on them.

Description: RH Baby & Child vintage race car mobiles were sold for use as decorative items that hang from the ceiling. The mobiles contain six wooden cars in various colors with spinning axles and wooden wheels attached to the axles.

Sold at: RH Baby & Child stores nationwide and online at RHBabyandChild.com from October 2014 to October 2016 for about $50.

Remedy: Contact company for a refund.

Dressers

Units: About 1,000

Hazard: The furniture is unstable if not anchored to the wall and can tip over. Children can be trapped, injured or killed by the tipping furniture.

Description: Recalled are Bolton Furniture two-over-two style four-drawer dressers. Models recalled are Cambridge 8614, Emma 8314, Essex 6614, Wakefield 8014 and Woodridge 8414. The dressers were sold in cherry, chestnut, espresso, honey, ivory, natural and white.

Sold at: Full Line Furniture and children’s specialty stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Overstock.com, Target.com, ToysRUs.com, Wayfair.com, Zulilly.com and other online retailers from February 2011 to October 2016 for about $700.

Remedy: Contact Bolton Furniture for a free retrofit kit. Install the kit or the tip-restraint strap sold with the dressers, or contact the company for free in-home installation.

Chests of drawers

Units: About 240

Hazard: The chests are unstable if not anchored to the wall and can tip over. Children can be trapped, injured or killed by the tipping furniture.

Description: Recalled are Artisan, Bellevue, Holden and Stratford style six-drawer bedroom chests. The pine wood chests are stained medium auburn brown.

Sold at: Amazon.com, Macys.com, Overstock.com and other online retailers from November 2015 through September 2016 for $500 to $700.

Remedy: Contact Simpli Home for a refund or a tip-over restraint kit with a $100 credit toward in-home installation of the device (with proof of service).

Dressers

Units: About 200

Hazard: The furniture is unstable if not anchored to the wall and can tip over. Children can be trapped, severely injured or killed by the tipping furniture.

Description: Cynthia style five-drawer dressers were sold in a cream color.

Sold exclusively at: Wayfair.com from September 2015 to August 2016 for about $150.

Remedy: Contact company for a refund or tip-restraint kit. Those unable or unwilling to install the tip-restraint kit can contact the company for instructions or additional assistance.
