Hand sanitizers packaged as food, drink
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning parents about several hand sanitizer products that look like food or drinks. The hand sanitizers are labeled as edible; packaged in food or drink containers like children’s food pouches, juice bottles, beer cans or vodka bottles; or include food flavors like chocolate or raspberry.
Parents should keep all hand sanitizers out of children’s reach. Many hand sanitizers are made with alcohol or rubbing alcohol. Swallowing just a tiny amount can cause alcohol poisoning or death in children. Symptoms of alcohol poisoning include sleepiness, low blood sugar, seizures and coma.
Call 911 if your child has collapsed, is having a seizure, is having a hard time breathing or can't wake up after using or swallowing hand sanitizer products.

Essential oil packaging
Essential oils are becoming more popular. So have calls to poison centers about children exposed to products that are not in child-resistant packaging.
Poison centers across the U.S. received more than 17,000 calls about children under age 5 who were exposed to essential oils in 2018. The American Academy of Pediatrics urges parents to keep essential oils away from young children.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. Over-the-counter drugs
Units: About 143,300
Hazard: The products are not in child-resistant packaging. Young children can be poisoned if they access and swallow the products.
Description: Recalled are 31 types of over-the-counter drugs made with aspirin, acetaminophen, ibuprofen, lidocaine, diphenhydramine, loperamide or naproxen. Brand names include Medi-First, Medi-First Plus, Medique, Dover, Otis Clapp and Ecolab. They were sold on or after June 1, 2018.
Sold exclusively at: Amazon.com from June 2018 through June 2020 for $2 to $59.
Remedy: Store the products away from children and contact the company for disposal and refund information.

Chests
Units: About 19,900
Hazard: The chest is unstable if not properly anchored to the wall. It could fall onto a child resulting in injury or death.
Description: Recalled are Essential Home brand Transform Belmont 2.0 model four-drawer chests sold in black, pine, walnut and white. “Kappesberg Móveis” and model number “F214” are in the instruction manual.
Sold exclusively at: Kmart stores and online at Kmart.com from March 2018 through April 2020 for about $60.
Remedy: If the chest is not anchored, place it in an area away from children. A free anchoring kit (with installation, upon request) is available for those who purchased the chest on or after Feb. 11, 2019. A free kit (without installation) is available for those purchased before that date.

Strollers
Units: About 4,000
Hazard: The stroller’s handlebar can detach, which could injure young children.
Description: Recalled are Thule Sleek strollers sold in black, dark gray, light gray, navy blue and red. The recalled strollers have product numbers 11000001-5, 11000017, 11000330 or 11000337-342. The product number can be found on the label on the lower inside frame of the stroller. Only strollers without a QC2020 sticker next to the product label are recalled.
Sold at: Buy Baby, REI and other stores nationwide and online at Thule.com and Amazon.com from July 2018 through June 2020 for $830 to $850.
Remedy: Stop using the stroller and contact the Thule Group to receive instructions on how to exchange the stroller for a free replacement.
