How to share your views on 2016 ALF resolutions :

January 29, 2016

Beginning Feb. 10, members can go online to view and comment publicly on resolutions that will be presented at the Annual Leadership Forum (ALF) March 10-13 in Schaumburg, Ill.

AAP News will post an article at with a link to the resolved clauses of the resolutions.

The feedback on that Web page will allow leaders of AAP chapters, committees, councils and sections to consider members’ comments when they debate and vote on resolutions during the March conference. ALF resolutions are considered advisory to the AAP Board of Directors but can lead to Academy initiatives.

A Top 10 database of resolutions dating to 1999 offers insights into some of the most pressing issues. Recurring themes have included obesity, marijuana advertising, undocumented children, immunization and practice-related topics such as electronic medical records (see resources).

ALF began in 1978 as the Chapter Chairmen’s Forum to spark communication among chapter leaders, AAP board members and staff. In 2004, committees and sections joined the forum, and the name was changed to ALF. In 2007, leaders from committees, councils and sections joined chapter leaders to vote on resolutions for the first time. Last year marked the first time members could comment online.
