Recipient of the 2002 AAP Award for Outstanding Service to Maltreated Children, David Chadwick, M.D., FAAP, of La Mesa, Calif., died Jan. 19 at age 93. Past chair of the American Medical Association National Advisory Council on Family Violence, his work led to the recognition of child abuse pediatrics as a subspecialty by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
Dr. Chadwick served on the AAP Section on Child Abuse and Neglect Executive Committee and was second president of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children.
