The Academy has developed an interactive digital map that highlights state immunization rates for vaccine-preventable diseases, as well as state laws regarding vaccine exemptions. It includes data on how each state measures against immunization thresholds.
When vaccination rates in a community are high, the spread and risk of disease are decreased for all, including individuals who are unable to be immunized. The map illustrates the herd immunity threshold variances for childhood vaccines.
Also highlighted are recent disease outbreaks in vulnerable communities with pockets of unimmunized individuals.
