I read with great interest the article in the May AAP News “FDA proposes limit on arsenic in infant rice cereals.”
This is a very important and, at least for me, a surprising finding.
In light of this new finding, I question whether pregnant women should have a recommended limit on the amount of rice cereal they eat. Also, should there be a recommended limit on how much rice cereal a baby can eat weekly?
I think parents should know which brands have the “acceptable” limit of inorganic arsenic. That disclosure also would urge other rice cereal makers to follow through.
