Since the onset of the pandemic, the AAP and its chapters have been assessing members’ needs. In response, the Academy is implementing two member benefits: a dues installment program and the opportunity to enroll in an Amazon Business account.
Dues installment program
AAP staff have been working with chapter executive directors to find the best solution to support members who are struggling to pay dues. The result is a new member dues installment program. The program allows Fellows, Specialty Fellows, Candidates and Senior members to pay their national, chapter and section/council dues in 12 equal installments instead of a single payment.
Payments can be made via credit card or checking account, and there is no fee to enroll in the program. Renewing members should visit https://www.aap.org/renew or call 866-843-2271 to enroll.
Access to COVID-19 supplies
Pediatric practices have struggled to get personal protective equipment and other medical supplies necessary to provide appropriate care to their patients. The flu season could exacerbate this challenge.
The AAP has advocated strongly to federal policymakers to make access to medical supplies a national priority. It also has explored innovative ways to help members obtain the supplies they need when they need them. One result of these efforts is a new partnership with Amazon.
Effective immediately, AAP members can open an Amazon Business account and can get special access to Amazon’s wide product selection. Key features include:
- exclusive access to Amazon’s COVID-19 supply store,
- access to over 15 million additional products,
- business discounts and
- free shipping on items over $25.
With an Amazon Business account, AAP members can track orders, view order history and create shopping lists for frequently purchased items.
If you already have an Amazon Business account with access to the COVID-19 supply store, you do not need to create a new one through the AAP.
