Tech Tip: Download WHO app to get latest information on Zika :

May 20, 2016

Zika virus remains a concern, and health care professionals need to stay up-to-date on new research, guidelines, diagnosis and treatment.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has developed an application that allows health care workers and the general public (ages 17 and older) to access the latest information on Zika virus.

The WHO Zika App provides general information about Zika, microcephaly and Guillain-Barré syndrome. Health care professionals also can download WHO’s technical guidance and other resources, monitor Zika-related research and development, access training materials and situation reports, and follow the WHO’s response to Zika.

The free app is available to download for Apple devices at http://apple.co/1rryfCs and Android devices at http://bit.ly/1Y3Ao1w.

If you would like to share a firsthand experience using technology, such as software, program, app, widget, etc., to improve patient care or practice management, email submissions of 250 words or less to Cathleen Guch at [email protected].
