The 7-minute Workout app can help incorporate exercise into the busy lives of pediatricians and patients alike.
The free app leads users through a series of exercises that are designed to provide the maximum benefit of working out regularly in the shortest time possible. Exercises are performed for 30 seconds, with 10 seconds of recovery time between exercises. Total time for the entire circuit workout is approximately seven minutes. No special equipment is required — just your own body weight, a wall and a chair. Features of the app include:
- daily reminders,
- progress tracking displayed on graphs and calendars,
- the ability to share success with others via Facebook, Twitter, email and text message; and
- tips on how to perform each exercise.
The app can function without Internet access, making it easy to work out anywhere.
The app is available for Apple devices, http://apple.co/1VTcgh7, and Android devices, http://bit.ly/21H8iiK.
