A battle of wits and endurance among three outstanding Florida residency programs captivated students and colleagues at the annual James W. Bass Pediatric Bowl.
The world’s premier pediatric trivia contest pitted residents from the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center against Johns Hopkins and University of Florida, with UM taking home the Meconium Cup.
Moderators Michael Cabana, M.D., M.P.H., FAAP, and Alan Schroeder, M.D., FAAP, posed questions on topics such as Florida Politicians, Early Warning Signs, Disney World Attractions and What Killed ‘Em. Special guest appearances were made by AAP President Colleen A. Kraft, M.D., M.B.A., FAAP, who posed questions on (AAP) Presidential Tweets, and Pediatrics Editor Lewis R. First, M.D., M.Sc., FAAP, who tested residents’ knowledge of Pediatric Firsts.
