Health Alerts: Bicycles, helmets, children’s sleepwear and more recalled

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Kids’ bicycles

Pacific Cycle is recalling 147,000 Pacific Kids’ Igniter and Pacific Bubble Pop 20-inch bicycles because the handlebar can come loose and riders can fall. The bicycles were sold online and in store by Target from July 2020 to September 2022 for about $140. Call 877-564-2261 or visit to schedule a repair.





Sakar International is recalling 33,100 Credhedz Lizard helmets, Crayola Dry Erase helmets and Tony Hawk multipurpose helmets because they do not meet stability and retention requirements, and can cause head injuries to children. The helmets were sold at Big Lots, Ollies Bargain Outlet and other stores nationwide and from November 2020 to October 2022 for about $30. Call 800-592-9541 or email for a refund.



Children’s sleepwear

The following companies are recalling children’s sleepwear because the garments do not meet federal flammability standards and can cause burns to children.

Selfie Craft Co. is recalling 38,740 sets of children’s pajamas sold online by Etsy, Uncommon Goods, Macys, Selfie Craft and The Tot and at boutique stores nationwide from November 2017 to June 2022 for about $39. Call 800-423-4618 or email for a refund.

P.J. Salvage is recalling 2,650 sets of children’s pajamas sold online by P.J. Salvage, Amazon and Zappos and in specialty stores nationwide from December 2021 to December 2022 for about $56. Call 844-975-2699 or email for a refund.

Properly Tied is recalling 1,960 pairs of children’s lounge pants sold at children’s product stores nationwide and online by Properly Tied from July 2020 to August 2022 for $19 to $38. Call 855-380-5185 or email for a refund.

NewCosplay is recalling 10,790 sets of children’s sleepwear sold in sizes 4T through 10 years in a variety of styles. The sleepwear sets were sold at from October 2016 to May 2022 for $17 to $26. Call 888-871-7108 for a refund.

Vaenait Baby is recalling 2,400 children’s robes sold at a variety of stores nationwide from December 2019 to June 2022 for about $11. Call 888-210-0252 or email for a refund.


Inflatable paddle boards

Surf 9 is recalling 13,300 Body Glove Tandem Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board, ULI Inventor Inflatable Paddle Board, ULI Zettian Inflatable Supyak and ULI Lila Inflatable Supyak paddle boards because the boards can open at the seams, deflate and users can drown. The paddle boards were sold online and in store by Costco from December 2021 to July 2022 for $630 to $800. Call 866-696-9257 or email for a refund.




Scented candles

Ross is recalling 5,800 Taylor and Finch six-wick scented candles because they can combust while lit, and the glass container can break. The candles were sold at Ross stores nationwide from August to October 2022 for about $17. Call 800-335-1115 or visit for a refund.




Gas ranges

ZLINE is expanding its recall to include 48-inch gas ranges because the ovens can emit carbon monoxide levels that can result in injury or death from carbon monoxide poisoning. The initial recall included 30-inch and 36-inch models. The gas ranges were sold by Best Buy, Lowe’s, The Home Depot, The Range Hood Store, Costco, Overstock, Wayfair and from February 2019 to December 2022 for $2,300 to $6,900. Headlight sealant

Meguiar’s is recalling 140,000 bottles of heavy-duty headlight sealant because the packaging does not meet federal child-resistant packaging requirements, posing a risk of poisoning if swallowed by children. The sealant was sold at Advance Auto Parts, AutoZone, O’Reilly Auto Parts and Walmart stores nationwide and from January to August 2022 for about $30. Handlebars and bicycles

Quality Bicycle Products GBC is recalling 8,740 bicycle handlebars and bicycles because the handlebars can crack and cause a crash or injury. The handlebars and bicycles were sold at specialty bicycle stores nationwide from January 2018 to August 2022. The handlebars sold for $240 and bicycles for $4,700 to $7,000. Polaris is recalling 3,800 Sportsman and Scrambler 1000 S all-terrain vehicles because electrostatic discharge outside the fuel tank can ignite fuel spills and cause a fire.
