Health Alerts: Bath toys, baby monitors, children’s helmets and more recalled

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to the CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. A searchable food and medical product recall database is available at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/default.htm.

Baby shark bath toys

Zuru is recalling 7.5 million baby shark and mini baby shark bath toys because the hard plastic fins of the shark can cut children. The bath toys were sold at Walmart, CVS Pharmacy, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Meijer, Target, Ross, Walgreens and other stores nationwide and online from July 2020 to June 2023 for $13 to $15 (full size) and $6 to $20 (mini). Baby monitor

Infanttech is recalling 17,100 Zooby video baby monitors for cars because the battery can overheat and cause a fire. The monitors were sold online by Infanttech and Amazon from January 2022 to May 2023 for $130 to $190. Email [email protected] or visit https://zoobyrecall.com for replacement information.




Children’s scooters

Jetson Electric is recalling 15,300 Jetson Nova and Star three-wheel kick scooters because the rear wheel can come loose, and children can fall. The scooters were sold at Target stores and online by Target and Ride Jetson from September 2022 to February 2023 for about $40. Dietary supplements

Nationwide Pharmaceuticals is recalling 4,000 packages of ferrous sulfate (iron) enteric-coated tablets dietary supplements because the packaging is not child resistant. The medication can be poisonous if swallowed by young children. The medications were sold in 324-milligram, 100-tablet bottles at Albertson’s, Walmart, CVS and Walgreens stores nationwide from December 2022 to January 2023 for about $6. Children’s helmets

Sound Around is recalling 1,800 Hurtle multipurpose children’s helmets because they do not meet federal safety standards and can cause head injuries. The helmets have the word “Renegade” on the side and were sold online by Amazon, Nordstrom, Pyle USA and Rue La La from September 2020 to March 2023 for about $17.
