Family Dollar recalls over-the-counter drugs, medical devices

October 10, 2023

Family Dollar is recalling several hundred over-the-counter-drugs, medical devices and other products that were stored outside temperature requirements, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Tuesday.

The items include cold medicine, allergy medicine, pain relievers, toothpaste, pregnancy tests, cough drops, mouthwash, suppositories, stomach medicine, and more from a variety of brands. The full list is at

The recall only applies to items sold between June 1, 2023 and Oct. 4, 2023 at stores in 23 states — Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

Family Dollar is recalling the products out of an abundance of caution. There have not been any reports of illness. Customers who purchased affected products can return them to the Family Dollar store where they were purchased without a receipt.

Customers with questions can contact Family Dollar at 844-636-7687 and should contact their health care provider if they experience any health issues related to the recalled products. Adverse reactions can be reported to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting Program.
