Health Alerts: Board books, infant swings, insect spray and more recalled

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Board books

Make Believe Ideas is recalling 260,000 Rainbow Road series board books because the plastic binding rings can detach from the books and children can choke on them. The books were sold at Target, Barnes & Noble, Sam’s Club and other stores nationwide, online by Amazon and at school book fairs nationwide from March 2022 to August 2023 for about $10 for individual books and for $21 as a boxed set. Infant swings

Honey Joy is recalling 170 infant swings because they violate the Safe Sleep for Babies Act, and children can roll on their stomach and stop breathing. The infant swings were sold online by Amazon from November 2022 to January 2023 for $110 to $120. The swings also violate the Safety Standard for Infant Swings. Email for a refund.


Insect spray

Procter and Gamble is recalling 8,600 packages of Zevo Fly, Gnat and Fruit Fly insect killer value packs because the cans can rupture and cause injuries and cuts. The insect spray was sold at Kroger and Meijer stores nationwide from March to April 2023 for about $25. Call 800-374-9429 or visit for a refund.



Nutraceutical is recalling 85,300 bottles of Solaray Liposomal multivitamins because the packaging is not child resistant. The vitamins were sold in 60-count and 120-count bottles at Whole Foods, Vitamin Shoppe, Sprouts Farmer’s Market, Fresh Thyme Farmer’s Market and health food stores nationwide from April 2022 to July 2023 for $40 to $70. Smart plugs

Emporia is recalling 80,000 Smart Plugs because they are not grounded adequately and can cause electric shocks. The smart plugs were sold online by Emporia and Amazon from July 2022 to May 2023 for $12 to $35. Call 844-367-6742 or email for refund or replacement information.



Trek is recalling 7,000 Trek Allant+ 7 bicycles with Tektro brakes because the rear brake hose can kink and riders can crash. The bikes were sold at Trek-owned and other bicycle stores nationwide and online by Trek from January 2022 to June 2023 for about $3,800. Call 800-373-4594 or visit to schedule a repair.


Electric bikes

Lectric Ebikes is recalling 45,000 disc brake calipers on Lectric XP 3.0 electric bike model because the brakes can fail and riders can crash. The electric bicycles were sold online by Lectric Ebikes from November 2022 to May 2023 for $1,000 to $1,200. Call 877-479-5422 or visit for a refund.


Bicycle cranksets

Shimano is recalling 680,000 11-speed Bonded Hallowtech II Road Cranksets for bicycles because the crank parts can separate and riders can fall. Bicycle tires

Pirelli Tire is recalling 14,500 P ZERO Race TLR bicycle tires because the tire bead can separate from the rim and riders can fall. Air fryers

Secura is recalling 6,400 air fryers because a wire connection can overheat and cause burns. The air fryers were sold online by Secura and Amazon from May 2019 to October 2020 for $48 to $90. Call 888-792-2360 or visit for a refund or replacement.


Spray paint

Rust-Oleum is recalling 84,000 cans of fluorescent pink marking spray paint because the spray valve can detach with force and cause injuries. The spray paint was sold at Home Depot, Lowe’s, Menards and other hardware stores nationwide and online by Amazon, Home Depot and Lowe’s from April to July 2023 for about $10. Fire tables

Best Buy is recalling 1,490 Insignia and Yardbird fire tables with lava rocks because the rocks can split, eject from the table and cause burns. The Insignia fire tables were sold by Best Buy and Tech Liquidators from July 2022 to April 2023 for $90 to $170.
