Dynacare baby powder is being recalled due to potential contamination with asbestos, according to an announcement published by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The powder from Dynarex Corporation comes in 14-ounce plastic bottles with a batch number of B051 and expiration date of Dec. 28, 2026, which can be found on the bottom. Sixty-two cases have been recalled.

Asbestos, which can cause cancer, was detected by the FDA during a routine sampling program. The mineral is often found near talc, an ingredient in cosmetic products, and steps must be taken to prevent contamination, according to the announcement. No illnesses have been reported.

The powder was sent to distributors on or after March 11 in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Florida, Washington and Wisconsin and sold online at Amazon.com.

Customers who purchased the powder should discontinue use immediately and return it for a full refund. They can contact Dynarex at 888-396-2739 or [email protected].

Health professionals and consumers should report adverse events from the products to the FDA’s MedWatch Safety Information and Adverse Event Reporting Program.
