Health alerts: High chairs, fort kits, garden play tools and more

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to the CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. A searchable food and medical product recall database is available at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/default.htm.

 

High chairs

MJKSARE is recalling 4,760 high chairs because the leg openings are too wide and children can become trapped. The tray also can come loose and children can fall. The high chairs were sold on Amazon.com from February to March 2024 for about $70. Email [email protected] for a refund.


Fort kits

Intellio Toys is recalling 12,400 Bright Builder fort kits with flashlights because button cell batteries in the flashlights can be accessed easily. If ingested, the batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns and death. The fort kits were sold online by Amazon and Intellio Toys from December 2022 to August 2024 for $38 to $49 for the kits and for $14 to $15 for the flashlight only. Garden sets

Red Toolbox is recalling 459,200 sets of Stanley Jr. kids wheelbarrow and seven-piece garden sets because the painted long hoe and rake contain excess levels of lead, which is toxic if ingested by young children. The recalled garden sets were sold at Costco stores and Costco.com from February to June 2024 for about $35. Email [email protected] or visit https://recall-rtb.com for replacement information.

Jewelry sets

Newmemo is recalling 2,200 children’s ring sets because the rings contain excess levels of lead and calcium, which are toxic if ingested by young children. The jewelry sets were sold on Amazon.com from January 2022 to March 2024 for about $12. Email [email protected] or visit https://bit.ly/3N6ZOwP for a refund.

Art card holders

Wee Gallery is recalling 8,000 Baby Tummy Time Gallery sets because the art card pockets have clear plastic coverings that contain excess levels of phthalate, which is toxic if ingested by young children. The gallery sets were sold at independent toy stores nationwide and online by Wee Gallery, Amazon, Bloomingdale’s and Baby List from October 2022 to July 2024 for about $38. Electric heaters

Glen Dimplex Americas is recalling 12,900 Cadet-branded Apex72 electric heaters because the fan can fail to turn on, causing the unit to overheat and potentially catch fire. The heaters were sold at Platt, Crescent Electric, CED and other electrical distributors nationwide from February 2014 to February 2024 for about $190.
