The AAP Section on Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine presented the 2025 Edwin L. Kendig Jr. Award to Margaret “Magee” W. Leigh, M.D., of Chapel Hill, N.C., and posthumously to Robert W. Wilmott, M.D., FAAP. The award recognizes individuals for lifetime achievement in the field of pediatric pulmonology.
Dr. Leigh, a professor of pediatrics, has served in the Department of Pediatrics and the Pulmonary Division at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for more than 40 years.
Dr. Wilmott was emeritus dean and vice president of medical affairs at St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo. He died on May 19, 2024.
Holly A. Hill-Reinert, D.O., FAAP, of Ripley, W.V., was named the first chief medical officer of West Virginia University Medicine Jackson General Hospital.
Dr. Hill-Reinert serves as an internal medicine and pediatric provider for Jackson General Hospital Morad-Hughes Health Center, where she also is chief of staff and a member of the hospital’s senior management team.
Steven Stylianos, M.D., FAAP, of New Brunswick, N.J., was named system director for pediatric surgery and surgeon-in-chief at The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J. He also will serve as a professor of surgery in the Department of Surgery and chief of the Division of Pediatric Surgery at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Dr. Stylianos served as a professor and chief of pediatric general surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York and was surgeon-in-chief at New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.
