Health alerts: Toy microphones, sling carriers, baby gates and more

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to the CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. A searchable food and medical product recall database is available at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/default.htm.

Toy microphones

Jazwares is recalling 125,000 America’s Got Talent microphones because the lithium-ion batteries can overcharge and ignite and pose fire hazards. The microphones were sold at Meijer, DD’s Discounts/Ross, Target and Walmart stores and online at amazon.com and target.com from October 2020 to October 2022 for $20 to $25. Sling carriers

Sunkids Factory is recalling 18,650 sling carriers because the items fail to meet federal safety standards for sling carriers and children can fall. The carriers were sold at temu.com from July 2023 to September 2024 for $7 to $15. Email [email protected] for a refund.





Baby loungers

Wayfair is recalling 1,555 Style Life Eleven baby loungers because they do not meet federal safety standards and babies can suffocate or fall while laying in the lounger. High chairs

Costway is recalling 4,400 Babyjoy high chairs because children can fall or suffocate while sitting in the chairs. The high chairs were sold at amazon.com, walmart.com, costway.com and shein.com from November 2022 to November 2024 for $70 to $110. Baby gates

UVIPC is recalling 1,500 baby gates because children can fit through the gate’s pet door and side openings and become trapped. The baby gates were sold at amazon.com from November 2022 to September 2024 for $186 to $230. Call 626-529-6048 or email [email protected] for a refund.



Tip-over restraints

Sauder Woodworking is recalling 15,800 tip-over restraint straps sold and distributed with Sauder and Sauder Beginnings dressers and 4-drawer chests because the straps can fail to prevent tip-overs, which can cause serious injuries or death. The restraints came with furniture sold at Cook Brothers, Homemakers Furniture Plaza and Menards stores and at amazon.com, bestbuy.com, cymax.com, homedepot.com, target.com, wayfair.com and other websites from July 2020 to December 2024 for $200 to $335. Dressers

SEJOV is recalling 900 five-drawer dressers because they are unstable if not properly anchored to the wall and can pose tip-over and entrapment hazards to children. Children’s pajamas

Several firms are recalling children’s pajamas because the garments do not meet federal flammability standards and can cause burns.

Forever 21 is recalling 24,700 children’s pajama sets sold in stores and online from November 2023 to November 2024 for $5 to $40. Call 888-219-4074 or email [email protected] for a refund.

Shein Distribution Corp. is recalling 17,300 sets of Shein Evryday kids’ pajama sets sold at shein.com from August 2023 to November 2024 for about $20. Call 833-853-8668 or email [email protected] for a refund.

P.J. Salvage is recalling 9,400 pajama sets and robes sold in stores and online at Nordstrom Rack from June 2024 to February 2025 for about $20 to $27. Email [email protected] for a refund.


Climbing ropes

Setsmart is recalling 22,500 LoGest climbing ropes with carabiners and LoGest climbing ropes with heavy-duty metal hooks because the ropes can weaken or break and users can fall. The ropes were sold at amazon.com from March 2021 to November 2024 for $20 to $70. Email [email protected] for a refund.





Youth jackets

AFTCO is recalling 820 Youth Solitude jackets because the drawstring in the hood can get caught and cause strangulation hazards or injuries. The jackets were sold at aftco.com and at fishing, camping and outdoor equipment stores nationwide from November 2018 to August 2024 for $80 to $100. Pounding games

DMITOY is recalling 180 6-in-1 pounding games because the magnets in the toy can come loose and can be swallowed by children. The toys were sold at temu.com from May to July 2024 for about $20. Email [email protected] for a refund.






Dino menorahs

Target is recalling 4,400 Spritz Taper Resin Hanukkah Dino Menorahs because the menorahs can burn or catch fire when holding candles. Sipper cups

Nazzaro is recalling 2,400 Rebecca’s Toys & Prizes bowling pin sipper cups because the red tape on the pin contains lead, which is toxic and can cause adverse health effects. Window blinds

Several companies are recalling window shades and blinds because the long operating cords can cause injuries, including strangulation, to children.

Shadeks is recalling 15,500 ShadesU roller window shades sold at amazon.com from June to September 2024 for $34 to $170. Call 866-267-4233 or email [email protected] for repair information.

Zhejiang Mingjing Textile is recalling 4,900 Homebox blackout roller shades sold at amazon.com from December 2022 to September 2024 for $20 to $110. Email [email protected] for replacement and repair information.

Allesin is recalling 3,800 blackout roller window shades sold at amazon.com from September 2023 to September 2024 for $29 to $58. Email [email protected] for a refund.

Electric scooters

Walmart is recalling 17,970 Swagtron SG-5 Swagger 5 Boost commuter electric scooters because the lithium-ion batteries can overheat and cause burns. The scooters were sold in stores and online by Walmart and Sam’s Club from May 2018 to October 2024 for $175 to $450. Call 800-925-6278 for a refund.






Air pistols

Umarex USA is recalling 26,500 T4E TR50 air pistols because the CO2 cartridge can unintentionally eject from the handle and cause injuries. The air pistol was sold at Big 5 stores in the western United States and at mcsus.com, amazon.com and valken.com from May 2022 to July 2023 for about $110. Rolling coolers

Igloo is recalling more than 1 million 90-quart Flip & Tow rolling coolers because the handle can pinch users’ fingertips against the cooler and cause injuries. The coolers were sold at Costco, Target, Academy, Dick’s Sporting Goods and other stores and online at amazon.com and igloocoolers.com from January 2019 to January 2025 for $80 to $140. Electric bicycles

Super73 is recalling 1,400 model year 2024 Z Miami SE and Z Adventure Core electric bicycles because a pin in the brakes can come loose and riders can crash.
